Extended Warranty (EW)
Coverage Period:
12 months from the ending date of the manufacturer’s original 12 month warranty (e.g., Month 13 day 1 until Month 24)
What’s Covered:
Manufacturer’s defects only
Claim Fee/Deductible:
A $10 service fee applies per approved service claim (actual amount in local currency disclosed at registration).
A 20% participation fee (based on the cost of the replacement device) applies per approved service claim that requires a Whole Unit Replacement (WUR)
Coverage Area:
Only valid in the country where the device was sold.
Exclusions for Extended Warranty
The following are not covered under this Extended Warranty:
ew.1 Software distributed by the OEM (with or without OEM branding), including but not limited to system software. Please refer to the accompanying license agreement for rights of use. ProTech Solutions does not warrant that OEM product operation will be uninterrupted or error-free.
ew.2 Covered Products with altered, defaced, destroyed, or duplicated serial numbers, part numbers, proof of purchase, warranty certificates, or e-certificates.
ew.3 Covered Products with removed or altered serial or part numbers.
ew.4 Damage or loss caused by unauthorized alterations, modifications, repairs, or maintenance by parties not authorized by the original manufacturer or ProTech Solutions.
ew.5 Damage or loss caused by willful, reckless, or intentional acts.
ew.6 Damage or loss resulting from negligence or carelessness.
ew.7 Damage or loss resulting from fraud.
ew.8 Damage or loss resulting from sabotage.
ew.9 Consumable parts (e.g., batteries, protective coatings) that naturally diminish over time, unless failure is due to a defect in materials or workmanship.
ew.10 Damage or loss that cannot be substantiated in accordance with insurer requirements.
ew.11 Damage or loss caused by natural disasters including, but not limited to, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, or tsunamis.
ew.12 Damage or loss due to war, riots, or civil unrest.
ew.13 Damage or loss resulting from seizure, requisition, or confiscation by public authorities or third parties.
ew.14 Damage or loss caused by nuclear fuel substances or radioactive contamination.
ew.15 Damage or loss resulting from computer viruses or software errors related to or used with the Covered Product.
ew.16 Wear and tear of cables, cord assemblies, battery packs, display panels, adaptors, covers, buttons, speakers, keyboards, and mice.
ew.17 Damage or loss to peripheral equipment or components without independent functionality, including those worn out through use, or accessories bundled with or purchased for the product (e.g., battery, charger, earphones).
ew.18 Damage or loss due to neglect, misuse, improper installation, incorrect usage, improper electrical supply/voltage, or failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
ew.19 Damage or loss from use of voltage converters or incorrect voltage application.
ew.20 Electrical damage caused by over-running, excessive pressure, short circuits, self-heating, arcing, or electricity leakage.
ew.21 Damage from explosion or machinery breakdown.
ew.22 Damage due to fire, theft, burglary, natural disasters (e.g., storms, floods, lightning), malicious damage, corrosion, power surges or outages, battery leakage, improper voltage, or animal/insect infestation.
ew.23 Damage to cosmetic or structural parts including housing, casing, decorative components, add-ons, accessories, external wiring, battery chargers, racks, knobs, handles, antennas, and remote controls.
ew.24 Software programs (whether pre-installed or added later), and support services such as "how-to" guidance or product setup.
ew.25 Covered Products rendered inoperable due to unauthorized modifications or catastrophic damage (e.g., product separated into multiple pieces).
ew.26 Cosmetic damage (e.g., scratches, dents, broken plastic) unless due to a material or workmanship defect.
ew.27 Any Covered Product not approved by ProTech Solutions.
