Accidental Damage (AD2)
Coverage Period:
24 months from the date of successful registration.
What’s Covered:
Cracked screens due to accidental drops in NORMAL DAILY USE.
Cracked back glass due to accidental drops in NORMAL DAILY USE.
Number of Claims during the coverage period:
Up to 2 claims of front screen
Up to 2 claims of back glass
Claim Fee/Deductible:
A $10 to $50 service fee applies per approved service claim (actual amount in local currency disclosed at registration).
A 20% participation fee (based on the cost of the replacement device) applies per approved service claim that requires a Whole Unit Replacement (WUR)
Extended Warranty (EW)
Coverage Period:
12 months from the ending date of the manufacturer’s original 12 month warranty (e.g., Month 13 day 1 until Month 24)
What’s Covered:
Manufacturers defects only
Number of Claims during the coverage period:
Up to 1 claim related to manufacturer’s defects
Claim Fee/Deductible:
A $10 service fee applies per approved service claim (actual amount in local currency disclosed at registration).
A 20% participation fee (based on the cost of the replacement device) applies per approved service claim that requires a Whole Unit Replacement (WUR)
Coverage Area:
Only valid in the country where the device was sold.
Exclusions for Extended Warranty
The Extended Warranty does not cover the following:
ew.1 Software distributed by the OEM, with or without OEM branding (including system software). Refer to the software licensing agreement for usage rights. ProTech Solutions does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the OEM product.
ew.2 Covered Products with serial numbers, part numbers, proof of purchase, warranty certificates, or e-certificates that have been altered, defaced, destroyed, or duplicated.
ew.3 Covered Products with removed or altered serial numbers or part numbers.
ew.4 Damage or loss caused by unauthorized alteration, modification, repair, or maintenance by any party not approved by the original manufacturer or ProTech Solutions.
ew.5 Damage or loss caused willfully, recklessly, or intentionally.
ew.6 Damage or loss resulting from negligence or carelessness.
ew.7 Damage or loss caused by fraud.
ew.8 Damage or loss caused by sabotage.
ew.9 Consumable parts (e.g., batteries, protective coatings) that naturally degrade over time, unless failure is due to a defect in materials or workmanship.
ew.10 Claims that cannot be substantiated per insurer requirements.
ew.11 Damage or loss caused by natural disasters including earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, or tsunamis.
ew.12 Damage or loss caused by war, riots, or uprisings.
ew.13 Damage or loss due to seizure, requisition, or confiscation by legal or public authorities.
ew.14 Damage or loss caused by nuclear fuel or radioactive contamination.
ew.15 Damage or loss caused by computer viruses or software-related errors.
ew.16 Wear and tear of cables, cord assemblies, batteries, display panels, adaptors, covers, buttons, speakers, keyboards, and mice.
ew.17 Peripheral equipment or components without independent functionality, including bundled or separately purchased accessories (e.g., batteries, chargers, earphones).
ew.18 Damage or loss from neglect, misuse, abuse, improper installation, incorrect usage, or failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
ew.19 Damage or loss due to voltage converters or incorrect voltage application.
ew.20 Electrical damage due to over-running, excessive pressure, short circuits, arcing, or leakage.
ew.21 Damage from explosions or machinery breakdown.
ew.22 Damage from fire, theft, natural disasters, corrosion, battery leakage, power issues, or animal/insect infestation.
ew.23 Cosmetic or structural items (e.g., housing, decorative parts, accessories, external wiring, remote controls).
ew.24 Software programs and support services (e.g., setup, “how-to” guidance).
ew.25 Products inoperable due to unauthorized modifications or catastrophic damage (e.g., separation into multiple pieces).
ew.26 Cosmetic damage (e.g., scratches, dents) unless caused by a defect in materials or workmanship.
ew.27 Covered Products not approved by ProTech Solutions.
Exclusions for Accidental Damage
Accidental Damage coverage does not include:
ad.1 Mechanical or electrical breakdown of the Covered Product.
ad.2 Damage to parts other than those eligible under the one-time screen crack or back glass breakage repair.
ad.3 Repairs unrelated to the accident.
ad.4 Products with altered, defaced, destroyed, or duplicated serial numbers, part numbers, proof of purchase, or certificates.
ad.5 Products with removed or altered serial numbers, part numbers, or IMEI.
ad.6 Damage caused by unauthorized alteration, modification, repair, or maintenance.
ad.7 Installation of third-party parts.
ad.8 Wear and tear to cables, battery packs, displays, adaptors, covers, buttons, or speakers.
ad.9 Loss or damage of bundled accessories (e.g., earphones).
ad.10 Damage from improper usage, incorrect voltage, or power surges.
ad.11 Electrical damage from over-running, short circuits, arcing, or leakage.
ad.12 Cosmetic or structural parts intended for periodic replacement (e.g., casing, decorative parts).
ad.13 Damage caused by use during extreme sports:
ad.14 Replacement of lost or stolen Covered Products.
ad.15 Damage or loss caused by fraud.
ad.16 Damage from wear and tear, rust, mold, discoloration, or cosmetic defects.
ad.17 Damage from fire, theft, burglary, misuse, natural disasters, corrosion, battery leakage, power issues, or animal/insect infestation.
ad.18 Damage or loss due to war, riots, or uprisings.
ad.19 Damage or loss from seizure, requisition, or confiscation by authorities.
ad.20 Damage caused by computer viruses or software errors.
ad.21 Loss of software, apps, or data, or support services.
ad.22 Damage caused by manufacturing defects inherent to the product.
ad.23 Claims that cannot be proven per insurer requirements.
ad.24 Products not approved by ProTech.
