Accidental Damage (AD)
Coverage Period:
12 months from the date of successful registration.
What’s Covered:
Cracked screens due to accidental drops in NORMAL DAILY USE.
Cracked back glass due to accidental drops in NORMAL DAILY USE.
Number of Claims during the coverage period:
Up to 1 claim of front screen
Up to 1 claim of back glass
Claim Fee/Deductible:
A $10 to $50 service fee applies per approved claim (amount disclosed at registration).
Extended Warranty (EW)
Coverage Period:
12 months from the ending date of the manufacturer’s original 12 month warranty (e.g., Month 13 day 1 until Month 24)
What’s Covered:
Manufacturers defects only
Number of Claims during the coverage period:
Up to 1 claim related to manufacturer’s defects
Claim Fee/Deductible:
A $10 service fee applies per approved service claim (actual amount in local currency disclosed at registration).
A 20% participation fee (based on the cost of the replacement device) applies per approved service claim that requires a Whole Unit Replacement (WUR)
Exclusions for Extended Warranty
The Extended Warranty does not cover the following:
ew.1 Software distributed by the OEM, with or without the OEM brand (including but not limited to system software). Refer to the accompanying license agreement for details of your rights. ProTech Solutions does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the OEM product.
ew.2 Covered Products with serial numbers, part numbers, proof of purchase, warranty certificates, or e-certificates that have been altered, defaced, destroyed, or duplicated.
ew.3 Covered Products with removed or altered serial numbers or part numbers.
ew.4 Damage or loss caused by alteration, modification, repair, or maintenance performed by unauthorized parties.
ew.5 Damage or loss caused willfully, recklessly, or intentionally.
ew.6 Damage or loss resulting from negligence or carelessness.
ew.7 Damage or loss caused by fraud.
ew.8 Damage or loss caused by sabotage.
ew.9 Consumable parts (e.g., batteries or protective coatings) designed to diminish over time, unless the failure is due to a defect in materials or workmanship.
ew.10 Claims that cannot be substantiated according to the requirements of the insurer.
ew.11 Damage or loss caused by natural events including, but not limited to, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, or tsunamis.
ew.12 Damage or loss caused by war, riots, or uprisings.
ew.13 Damage or loss due to the execution of legal rights by public authorities or third parties, including seizure, requisition, or confiscation.
ew.14 Damage or loss caused by nuclear fuel or radioactive contamination.
ew.15 Damage or loss caused by computer viruses or any software defects or errors associated with the Covered Product.
ew.16 Wear and tear of components such as cables, cord assemblies, battery packs, display panels, adaptors, covers, buttons, speakers, keyboards, or mice.
ew.17 Peripheral equipment or components without independent functionality, including bundled or separately purchased accessories (e.g., batteries, chargers, earphones) worn out through use.
ew.18 Damage or loss due to neglect, misuse, abuse, improper installation or usage, wrong electrical supply/voltage, or non-compliance with manufacturer instructions.
ew.19 Damage or loss resulting from the use of a voltage converter or incorrect voltage.
ew.20 Electrical damage caused by over-running, excessive pressure, short-circuiting, self-heating, arcing, or electricity leakage.
ew.21 Damage due to explosion or machinery breakdown.
ew.22 Damage caused by fire, theft, burglary, misuse, abuse, or acts of God (e.g., earthquake, storm, flood, lightning, sand, water, corrosion, battery leakage, power outages or surges, animal or insect infestation).
ew.23 Appearance or structural parts such as housing, casing, decorative components, external wiring, accessories, or items designed for periodic replacement.
ew.24 Any software programs (pre-installed or installed later), or technical support such as assistance with setup or "how-to" usage.
ew.25 Products that are inoperable due to unauthorized modifications or catastrophic physical damage (e.g., separated into multiple pieces).
ew.26 Cosmetic damage, including scratches, dents, or broken ports, unless resulting from a defect in materials or workmanship.
ew.27 Any Covered Product not approved by ProTech Solutions.
Exclusions for Accidental Damage
The Accidental Damage coverage does not apply to:
ad.1 Mechanical or electrical breakdown of the Covered Product.
ad.2 Damage to components other than what is covered by the one-time carry-in screen crack repair and one-time back glass breakage repair.
ad.3 Repairs unrelated to the specific accidental event.
ad.4 Products with altered, defaced, destroyed, or duplicated serial numbers, part numbers, proof of purchase, or certificates.
ad.5 Products with removed or altered serial numbers, part numbers, or IMEI numbers.
ad.6 Damage or loss caused by unauthorized alteration, modification, repair, or maintenance.
ad.7 Installation or use of third-party parts.
ad.8 Wear and tear to components such as cables, cord assemblies, battery packs, display panels, adaptors, covers, buttons, or speakers.
ad.9 Damage or loss of peripheral components bundled with the device (e.g., earphones).
ad.10 Damage due to improper usage, incorrect electrical supply/voltage, or power surges.
ad.11 Electrical damage resulting from over-running, pressure, short-circuiting, self-heating, arcing, or electricity leakage.
ad.12 Cosmetic or structural items such as housing, casing, decorative elements, or parts designed for periodic replacement.
ad.13 Damage caused by use of the device during high-risk, high-speed extreme sports, including:
ad.14 Replacement of lost or stolen Covered Products.
ad.15 Damage or loss caused by fraud.
ad.16 Damage caused by wear and tear, rust, mold, discoloration, or other cosmetic deterioration.
ad.17 Damage from fire, theft, burglary, misuse, or acts of God including but not limited to earthquakes, typhoons, tsunamis, storms, floods, lightning, malicious damage, corrosion, battery leakage, power issues, or animal/insect infestation.
ad.18 Damage or loss due to war, riots, or uprisings.
ad.19 Damage or loss caused by execution of legal rights by authorities or third parties, such as seizure or confiscation.
ad.20 Damage caused by computer viruses, software defects, or software errors.
ad.21 Loss of or damage to software programs, apps, or data (whether pre-installed or added later), including related technical support.
ad.22 Damage or loss caused by inherent manufacturing defects.
ad.23 Claims that cannot be proven as per insurer requirements.
ad.24 Any Covered Product not approved by ProTech.
